  |  WILLFUL DAMAGE
With Christmas just around the corner and we should all be feeling Merry and Bright.

Well the idiots of the Village are having a whale of a time this Christmas.

Already this week, we have seen damage to 1x Dog Bin and 2x Waist Bins at a total cost of £1050.00 pounds (of taxpayers money).  Damage to two Highway road signs at the end of the Village, plus two street signs off Park Crescent (cost again paid for by the residents via Borough tax).

Not only content with that they have Graffited the wall outside the Church Hall in Park Crescent,

and last but not least because some civic minded person decided to stand up to them,  they threw Dog Excrement at their door.

By the way these idiots live in our Village.

Have a Mery Christmas.

John Symonds

Chairman Stewartby & Kempston Hardwick.

First Chairman's Report! - dated Welcome to the Chairman's Reports. You can read the most recent report below, or scroll further down to read other entries.

  |  First Chairman's Report!

Welcome to the Stewartby Parish Council Web Site.  I hope you find it informative and if you have any concerns or questions please don’t hesitate to contact me or any of your Councillors.

As always Stewartby Parish Council has continued to be very busy.  Over the last year the Parish Council has responded to the following matters:

  • The Electoral Ward Boundary Review

  • The Waste To Energy Plant planned by Covanta

  • The Town and Parish Community Relationships

  • Milton Keynes and Milton Keynes Waterways

  • Preferred Waste Core Strategy for Bedfordshire

  • CPRE (Campaign for the Protection of Rural England)

  • Community Safety Forum

  • O & H Properties matters

We continue to deal with all issues that affect both Stewartby and Kempston Hardwick such as grass cutting, planning, highways and general local concerns.

Over the last year we have moved forward with a number of projects including this new Website,  Lighting, Village Hall Improvements and a new Play Area, although regrettably the funding for the Play Area has been cut and we are trying to obtain further funding elsewhere, hence this project has been delayed.

We are still witnessing problems in Stewartby with Anti-Social Behaviour and Vandalism which is costing the Parish Council and Residents dearly and I am sure you will agree that this money would be better spent in other areas and therefore the Parish Council are looking into obtaining a CCTV system which would be linked to the central control room in Bedford.

The Village Consultation day held on October 24th was a very successful and informative event and I thank those of you who came and expressed your opinions.  We have noted your concerns and will try to find positive solutions.

Over the past year the Parish Council has seen new Councillors join, however as some Councillors have also stepped down we have vacancies and if you think you would like to be a Parish Councillor and have more of an effect on your village please contact the Parish Clerk, Vicky Gladstone on stewartbyclerk@yahoo.co.uk

As per the ticker tape reminder on the home page we have arranged the Autumn/Winter Village Tidy up and bulb plant which will take place on Saturday 20th November 10am to 12 noon.  I would like to thank you in advance for your support for this forthcoming village event.

Finally I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the Parish Council to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas
